Bonte Tea Tree Forest Honey is the rarest and the most expensive honey in the world. It’s made deep in the Nilgiris Forests, surrounded by Tea Plantations at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level, where bees create a “high-quality, mineral-rich honey” in the Highlands of Kotagiri. Kotagiri which showers one of the best climate next to Switzerland, is situated at a distance of about 28 km east of Ooty, at an altitude of 1950 m and is surrounded by dense Shola Forests and splendid green lush of tea estates.
Because it is harvested only once a year, the Bonte Honey is really an ultra-rare gift from nature. It comes in a lovely golden color and has a thick consistency.
For centuries, it has been called the nectar of the Gods as it is rich in antioxidants, polyphenols, flavonoids, magnesium, potassium, phenols and proline. Tea Tree honey dates back to the 17th century B.C. Ancient Tribes used it to cure diseases, boost immunity, fight aging, and as an aphrodisiac.
